"The reason I'm so aligned with myself isn't because I'm perfect... it's because I don't mind that I'm not perfect."
A foundational aspect of walking back into our authentic selves is learning to embrace the experience of being wrong. In the Western mindset... being wrong is something we are conditioned to avoid, sometimes at almost any cost. We don't want to be at fault.
We try to avoid looking foolish and being embarrassed.
We can become obsessed with avoiding mistakes.
We fear failure.
We strive for unobtainable perfection.
What does being wrong feel like? Why might this feel so frightening? Can we see how this fear of being wrong implies an underlying belief that our purpose is to only get things right? I should be perfect, becomes the unconscious feeling state, an assumed premise in almost everything... our relationships, jobs, school, the way we learn and even in our play. We are often looking to meet an external set of standards, instead of using our own internal values and knowing. Looking outside of ourselves just feels normal.
Our objective is to try to get it nail everything, by having...
The right beliefs. The right answers. The right ways of doing things. The right... trendy look. The right house and car. The right job. The right religion. The right way to heal.
Living from the perspective of trying to get things right tends to keep us in a looping pattern, reproducing similar types of problems and issues over and over. Life is presenting us with repeating patterns to help us see what we are doing, so we can shift out of trying to do things right and into a willingness and openness for learning and evolving. From this place and intention, we can integrate the wisdom we have acquired from all of our life experiences. When these looping patterns get bigger, the out of control feeling becomes so big we feel totally overwhelmed. A common response is to want to feel better and to gain more control over our lives. When we have not healed our lives and selves it is typical to use being right as an equalizer a way of leveling the playing field.
This is an inauthentic way of being. Our trying to be right then gains momentum, giving us tunnel vision and shutting us down to the possibilities before us. This can be the most contracted energetic state, where we are locked in on looking for what our minds see as the right way... instead of being in tune with ourselves, our truth, our own knowing or the many possibilities that surround us.
What if you were to ask... What is needed based on the context of this situation?
What do I feel is just or true?
What is Real for me… do I feel sabotaging energy in me or in someone else? Do I fear saying something because I might be Wrong?
What is my Soul nudging me to do? Do I fear following the nudging, for I am might be Wrong?
Where am I being guided to go... what direction? Might this be the walk into my Gifts my Calling? Am I afraid of following for fear of being Wrong?
Being willing to own what you know and what you don't know. Be fearless or brave in the depths of fear. Be willing to own when you are Wrong and integrate the depth of wisdom that can come from this experience if we simply choose it. Be willing to see all of the ways in which you are holding back, hiding, withholding, avoiding and playing it safe because of the fear of being Wrong.
The fear of being wrong and the need to be right can stop us from being our authentic selves. This inauthentic way of being tends to constrict our energy, limit our perspective and we distort truth. When in this state it can be very difficult to be Real and see the Truth. This hinders us from walking in our truth, integrity and our accountability.
The experience of being wrong is a beautiful and necessary experience for our Spiritual evolution and transformation.
Our Higher Selves have no wish to avoid mistakes. We are here to experience and learn from our faults and failures. It is a distortion that we are all here to achieve one universal right way of perfection or rightness. It is our egos that have a problem with being Wrong. Time to evolve into a higher state of consciousness! We are in the Season of ego integration!!!
Remember… we are each here to discern from within our own moral code and knowing, following the guidance from our Higher Selves. When we live in this way we are not afraid to be wrong, nor are we afraid to admit and own when we are wrong.
We came to experience our unique authentic selves and evolve into our Higher Selves leading our lives. This is our Divine calling, aligning us with Source and all of Life. We are each here to show up authentically and offer our unique selves to our families, friends and the world!
When we feel ourselves bracing against the reality that we have been wrong... know that this is our opportunity to open up and go into all that wrong has to offer. What does being wrong have to teach us? What lessons are waiting for us in the experience of wrong? Consider how having been wrong in the past has made us more balanced and wise... creating more depth of wisdom. Open up to seeing how being wrong has been a natural humbling experience.
We can relax into the possibility that all of this is purposeful and serving us. We are being offered an opportunity to learn and grow in the depth of our character.
The more we can stand in the purposefulness of whatever we are experiencing, the more we will begin to feel and know that we are not diminished in any real way by being wrong. We are actually more than, more than whatever mistake we made.
We expand and evolve as humans through experiences of failure. We gain so much through our lessons, we are richer for having them. And as we practice this, we cross a threshold where the illusion and fear of being wrong breaks up. We begin to realize there actually is a lot to be learned. We strengthen our ability to hold in our hearts this is not just a terrible or destructive experience, but a beneficial part of being human.
We may have learned to associate being wrong with a loss of our power or even a sense of annihilation or an underlying feeling state that we do not deserve to be here if we are at fault. As we allow ourselves to go into these feelings and experiences rather than escaping them, we begin to heal and integrate. Evolve.
Paradoxically, this is where we begin to return to our power, as we move through the fear of being wrong and the mistaken sense that we will be powerless or annihilated in its wake.
Embrace the possibility...
Getting it right is not a path of authenticity or evolution. We find the wholeness of our human self in our mistakes. Transformation can come from the openness to being wrong. Our willingness to be wrong opens us up to the unlimited possibilities and potentials. When we are in open flow we naturally have access to more of our faculties.
What is so ironic, yet beautiful is the things we tend to think of as ugly and wrong are actually the meat of our transformation and evolution. Working to get it right takes us deeper into the limitation of our egoic minds and lessons of contrast.
The call is to wake up! It is time to walk out of limitations and egoic understanding into the open awareness and Sacred joy of Spirit! Make the choice to be willing and do not give up… keep choosing, over and over. Choose to see yourself and your life… knowing the most Sacred lesson is learning to allow Spirit to lead our lives.
