What You May Experience
as You Begin to Process...
I feel scattered and undone!
Beautiful. This feeling is opening space for you to create a new way, a more authentic, aligned way of being, making room for the whole of you. You are accustomed to your old way of being and operating, feeling more trapped in your head, so this open place can make you feel scattered. This new experience is creating a void. The void is where creation resides. You are not used to feeling that much expansion and room inside you. Coach yourself... "this is what it feels like to Heal, everything is okay."

I feel angry.
Yay! It is time. Time to get in touch with your emotions that you have pushed down. Beautiful, all is well... remember your anger is speaking to you. Anger is part of what helps you to find balance and create boundaries. You may be breaking up a limited identity that has a restricted range of feeling and responses. An example of a limited identity could be one that only allows you to be nice and accommodating.
You may have dissociated yourself from many emotions such as anger and grief. Your processing may now be breaking you open, so you can feel those needed feelings. Don't worry. Anger and grief, or whatever strong emotion you may be feeling, do not last forever even though it may feel like it right now. The truth is for most people I work with, there is a lot of accumulated feelings and emotions to burn up! Time for the Phoenix Process!

I feel lost. I don't know who I am now. I don't know what to do.
I feel out of control. I feel disoriented.
I feel like I need to figure everything out. I don't feel comfortable not knowing and this feels too vulnerable.
What do I need to do?
See these feeling states as the opening, the potential door for transformation and evolution... keep walking. This can be unsettling and frightening. At this point we usually want to get things back in control, because we feel like something has gone wrong or may go wrong. But all these feelings are a beautiful opening for finding your truth and a new, more aligned way of being. Time to evolve.
You are like the acorn breaking open as the oak tree seedling pushes its way out of the shell. In order for your true self to emerge, you must break open. Simply allow it. Surrender. There is nothing to figure out. Instead of trying to figure it out or get control, feel your feelings, get in touch with your body and be open to your guidance.
You may need support from others when you feel this way. I encourage you to reach out and ask for it. Reach out and ask for someone to listen to you vent or share your feelings. They may not know how to help you stay in your feelings of being somewhat lost, since most people are trying to get out of their own feelings, but they may be able to listen.
I feel like I need to take a break from processing.
Lovely, then it is time to do so. Balance is part of a healthy life. This work can become very intense at times. Honor when you have had enough and need to go have some light hearted fun and laughter. Do something physical. Or sit down and watch a movie. Whatever you feel is needed for balancing and taking a healthy break.
Your process will be here waiting for you. You will not be abandoned or lose ground if you take a break. Breaks are a needed part of the process and help keep us balanced!
Things
to
remember...
You are learning to be in the unknown.
Being with the unknown means learning to be in the truth, because even when we think we know what to expect, it's an illusion. It's an illusion because we generally don't know what is going to happen next in life. To see the illusion, just ask yourself how many times you really knew how things would end up. You can now learn to hold space for the unknown and all its possibilities, being open to where the unknown wants to take you. Nothing expands us more than being with the unknown. The known is what has already been.
The unknown is creation.
You are always being guided.
When something isn't working out, this is guidance. You may be accustomed to trying to figure out what you've done wrong... what's gone wrong, or what's wrong with you since things never seem to work out. Instead stop and realize you are being guided. Your work is to recognize and discern how your guidance is already coming to you. It is happening all the time. What is your life trying to show you? How might life be trying to wake you up? Is your life trying to stop you? What do you need to be open to hearing? What are your methods or channels for receiving guidance?

Fall in love with what wrong has to teach you.
The fear of being wrong limits us, and holds us back from following our own organic process of growth. When we bring our courage forward and remain open to being wrong, this is a healing shortcut.
Wrong is not just something we need to have grace for, but is a necessary experience for our evolution. When we live following conventional beliefs that we must always be right, we then become right fighters in order to avoid being wrong. Living this way constricts the natural unfolding of our life lessons.
When avoiding being wrong, we are missing the heart of the lesson and the depth of the wisdom that comes from it. Being wrong is an organic experience of life that we need to learn to embrace. What if we challenge conventional notions? What are we truly afraid of? What will happen if we are wrong? Practice embracing the feelings of having been wrong wherever this experience has shown itself. This is a path of truth, freedom, transformation and evolution.
